Valentin Petit was a French film director, born and raised in Bourges, in the Cher region. He was based in Paris. At the age of eighteen, after a serious accident during a motocross competition, Valentin picked up his first camera. Right from the start, he approached the camera and used it with the same fearless mentality, without looking down, but with confident risk-taking, the same as he had on the racing bike. Valentin's bold visions were told through sharp, dynamic and always unexpected camera movements and transitions. When these could no longer push the boundaries of reality, the seemingly impossible story nevertheless unfolded seamlessly, thanks to a very careful and intelligent use of special effects. Thanks to this original cinematic formula, Valentin has attracted brands such as the Paris 2024 Olympics, adidas, H&M, Bentley, Balmain, Beat By Dre, Nike, Sony, Oakley, Salomon, Sorare, Lancôme, as well as artists like Prince Waly, Nekfeu, Rosalía, A$AP Ferg and Audrey Nuna. Like him, they wanted to excite, disconcert and entertain. It's thanks to these recent projects that he's become a highly acclaimed director, winning a plethora of international awards (D&AD, MTV VMAs, Club des DA and UKMVA). His short film Le Bruit de la Lumière got more than a hundred selections and forty awards in film festivals worldwide, like the Catalina Film Festival (California), High Peak Independent Film Festival (UK) and Phenomena (Brazil). Alongside his work as a film director, he was also an assertive entrepreneur. He was one of the founders of the production company Ocurens, with offices in Paris and London. He then co-founded the post-production and VFX company Monumental. He died on May 20, 2023, at the age of 32, in a tragic plane accident in Switzerland
