In a world where men can get pregnant, we follow the morning after of 27 year old Owen, who wakes up with more than a hangover to fix.
For her narrative work, Sophie was selected by BFI Net.Work x BAFTA Crew and subsequently signed to Independent Talent. She has a BA in Film from Kings College London and is a graduate of the NFTS Diverse Directors Workshop. Her award-winning shorts have been screened at BAFTA and Oscar qualifying festivals globally. Sophie’s work can be viewed on Amazon Prime Video, Curzon Home Cinema, BFI Player and Apple TV+, and has been praised by the likes of Time Out, The Guardian and The Times. Her focus is on telling darkly comedic tales that pack a punch such as her Merman TV pilot Disability Benefits starring Rosie Jones for Channel 4. In the branded space, Sophie has produced high end TVCs and content series around the world for brands including Microsoft, Sennheiser, Diageo and Amazon. She has devised, directed and creatively led recurrent content for Netflix’s UK, USA and EMEA channels, as well as directing work for Warner Music, Mulberry, Dove and Lancôme amongst others, with a focus on emotive, human-led stories with a smile. Better still, Sophie contributed to the prestigious, and oh so difficult Straight8 Shootout in 2022 for which she won the Audience Award, aka the biggest round of applause at the first glance premiere screenings in Cannes. And to top that off, she directed the full second season of ITV’s Buffering, an all so relatable sitcom about a bunch of twenty-somethings navigating life in the big smoke while living in a houseshare in Peckham, co-written by comedians Iain Stirling and Steve Bugeja.
