Farewell is a story of an intimate friendship between two men, exploring themes of masculinity within the context of people of colour, set in the UK. Society often frowns upon deep emotional connection and tenderness shared in same-sex friendships. This is particularly true for men-of-colour, whose experiences of intimacy and vulnerability are rarely represented in cinema. By showcasing the beauty found in genuine connection between men, I hope to create a space where audiences can reevaluate their perceptions and embrace a more inclusive and nuanced understanding of masculinity.
