Sara is an up and coming female director with a passion for creating emotive content and shedding a light on stigmatised communities. Now living in London, Sara was born and raised in Ireland, and a daughter of Iranian immigrants. She often draws from her unique diasporic experience in her creative projects and likes to challenge stereotypes through her work. Sara brings a strong photographic eye to every project she works on, and enjoys playing with abstract angles and obscure lighting to create visually striking work. Sara’s first short ‘Sunday Feeling’ examines immigrant fathers and their perception of mental health. The piece went on to win Best Documentary at the Dublin Smartphone Film Festival and gained Official Selection at London Short Film Festival and FilmOneFest. It was also shortlisted at the Young Arrows for Student Ad of the Year. Most recently, Sara won a hotly contested open pitch for the Mayor's Fund for London to create a film which raises awareness around food insecurity in the midst of the cost-of-living crisis in the UK. The hauntingly beautiful film combines spoken word with powerful imagery to artfully demonstrate how everyday essentials are currently 'Out of Reach' for so many people.
