We had 300+ extras running around downtown Vancouver without their trousers (pants) on. There were obviously a few shots, like the end, where VFX helped us out, but for the most part this was all captured in camera.
Sam Pilling is the son of an English professor, and named after the playwright Samuel Beckett. Since graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2009, he has directed music videos for the likes of Chaka Khan, The Weeknd, Run The Jewels and DJ Shadow. Sam’s films have screened at film festivals across the world including SXSW, Cannes, Camerimage and the BFI Future Film Festival and his #WeThe15 film championing inclusivity screened at the Paralympic Opening Ceremony in Tokyo 2020. Known for capturing unique moments and visually pushing boundaries, with a strong sensibility to blending practical sets and visual effects, Sam’s music video and commercial work has earned him an indelible reputation as a filmmaker. His most recent work includes campaigns for Apple, Stella Artois, Audi, Miller Lite, IPC, and Winamax.
