This film was written and produced during Bolsonaro's government as a form of protest, aiming to bring visibility to the plight of black citizens facing genocide fueled by the government in the favelas and peripheries of Sao Paulo and other cities in Brazil.
After re-encountering his passion for filmmaking, Pedro debuted his cinematic career by writing and directing his experimental short ‘Voragem’ (Maelstrom). It was the director's first collaboration with Victor, which he photographed. After their first meeting, they collaborated to bring "They Don't Come in Peace" to life, based on the continuous police violence against black citizens in Brazil. Pedro moved and is now based in Berlin working with advertisement directing and continues to write and direct the stories he writes. Victor is based in Brazil where he works as a Director of Photography.
