You Can't Stop Us was a meticulously researched project involving sifting through over 4000 clips of iconic sports footage, in addition to a four day shoot. The project aired alongside the NBA restart at the end of July and sought to celebrate the return of sport after a long hiatus. Carefully curating, clearing and crafting the footage (as well as shooting setups to match). It features LeBron James, Naomi Osaka, Eliud Kipchoge, Caster Semenya, Cristiano Ronaldo, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Serena Williams, Colin Kaepernick, Kylian Mbappé and Megan Rapinoe (who also the narrates). You Can't Stop US highlights the power of sport to bring people together.
In 2017 Oscar was awarded by the Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors Showcase for his work on Bonobo’s “No Reason”, took home Gold at the Young Director Awards at Cannes Lions and won Best Director at the UKMVA’s. Since then it’s been off to the races. Most recently having worked with Wieden + Kennedy, MAL and Droga5 to name a few, Oscar brings a tremendous tool kit to every project. Usually opting for in-camera solutions, he has found a way to achieve magic while not compromising on the beauty of the frame or the performance of the talent.
