Director Naghmeh Pour was born in Iran and fled the country as a child, living in Turkey for some time before spending her youth in provincial Denmark. She is now based in Copenhagen. Always drawn to literature and storytelling, she studied English and Scriptwriting at university before going on to become a Director’s Assistant at new—land Copenhagen, learning from some of the industry’s foremost directors. Drawing from inspirations like Mohsen Makhmalbaf, Abbas Kiarostami and Jafar Panahi, Naghmeh’s work is animated by metaphor and symbolic imagery, and driven by the burning desire to make the audience feel.
