Mollie Mills

Somesuch

MOLLIE MILLS Mollie Mills is a British director and photographer. Her work is tender and intimate, celebrating young pioneers and non-conformists. With a sensitive, compassionate approach (honed over a storied, international career) she has a way of drawing sincere warmth out of her subjects – inviting them to tell stories on their own terms. Mollie split her childhood between London and the festival circuits in the ’90s acid house era. At just 18, armed with a £100 handycam she bought off a neighbour, she won Nike’s Best Young Filmmaker. She broke out with ‘Vogue, Detroit’, a documentary about queer subculture in one of America’s most deprived, dangerous cities. In 2017, she was selected for the Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors’ Showcase at Cannes. She was also named ‘One to Watch’ by MTV, and was included in the Dazed 100. Since then, she has gone on to direct award-winning films and commercials, and work with global brands including British Airways, Coca-Cola, Stella McCartney, Nike, Adidas, Pinterest, Converse, Hugo Boss and i-D. As well as a beauty campaign for Noto and a Super Bowl commercial for Tonal starring Serena Williams. Recently, she won her third gold CLIO award for ‘2%’, a musical PSA commissioned by the Grammy awards which addressed the scarcity of female producers in the music industry. Mollie is currently based in Los Angeles.
