The latest documentary by award-winning director Martina Margaux Cozzi is a visually stimulating portrait of Hong Kong-based multidisciplinary artist Wallace Chan. Recognised as one of the greatest jewellery artists in the world, Wallace Chan began his artistic pursuit as a carver and sculptor in 1973. Wallace Chan - The Art of Materials chronicles the artist's very first large-scale titanium sculpture exhibition in Venice, Italy. A tribute to creation itself, the film delves into Chan's mind to uncover the intricate relationship between materials, time and space.
With more than ten years experience in the field of performing arts and creative storytelling in all its forms - from theatre to cinema and art exhibitions - Martina Margaux is a one-of-a-kind creative director and film director, specialising in cross-media and experiential projects. Her film Montreuil Story was awarded Best Creative Concept at Seattle Film Festival in 2017. In 2018 she artistically directed the first multisensory immersive experience Caravaggio - Beyond the Canvas, while her documentary art film Under The Skin about artist Anish Kapoor was released in 2020 winning numerous awards including Best Director at the Fine Arts Film Festival 2020, presented by Venice Institute for Contemporary Arts, and Best Documentary Short at New Renaissance Film Festival 2020. The film was praised and sponsored by the artist himself and is now in development as a feature film. She regularly collaborates as Creative Director with the group The Aimes, creating original art installations and compelling concepts for the art world. She is currently based between London and Milan.
