Marcus Ibanez is an award-winning director with a background in stills photography and a graphic design degree from Berghs School of Communication. After graduating in 2016, Marcus was eager to learn more about film and got in contact with new—land, who quickly realised his potential and started him off as a Director’s Assistant and 2nd Unit Director. Marcus went on to work on productions with directors such as Gustav Johansson, Niclas Larsson, Sheila Johansson, Jonas Lindstrøm and Jerome Salle, before becoming a commercials director in his own right, directing films for brands including Volvo, Adidas and Coca-Cola. In 2022, his film for the German supermarket chain PENNY won the Grand Prix for Film Direction at Cannes, as well as a host of other awards at shows including D&AD, the ONE Show and the Clios.
