Quote from Oli Millar: “Mackenzie and I love nothing more than shooting film in Japan, and this Adidas project found us returning to our beloved Aaton A-Minima and little Arri 235. We chose colour stock, manipulating the channels to extract B&W in post. We did use some 5222 Double-X as well to be fair. One of the job highlights was converting the producer’s bathroom into a darkroom for rolling A-Minima spools. The lab in Osaka hadn’t seen A-Minima spools in a while so when they received it they were concerned maybe we had shot everything with the emulsion reversed! Luckily it was just a chance to remind them about this unique camera, and everything developed perfectly.”
