‘Never This Close’ highlights how close we are to eradicating HIV and not to give up the fight. With a cinematic style the film tactfully shows a couple in a state of attraction, they want to get closer, but there is a hesitation, a pause, a space between them. The threat of HIV and AIDS. They gradually become closer, to touch and show love, illustrating how that space no longer poses danger.

Based in Paris, Hamlet director Ludovic Gontrand, a former agency creative at Sid Lee Paris, turned to film directing about 2,5 years ago. He explores both documentary work and music videos as well as commercial work. He loves working with a very strong visual identity and his film craft is always and thoroughly thought through.
