Two years and a half after the creation of the Re#Start collective, which brings together the Women's Houses inspired by its model, and the day after the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, La Maison des Femmes de Saint-Denis has launched an original film, retracing through a minute of dance and poetry, the journey of a woman in a Re#Start Women's House, from her care to her reconstruction and autonomy. Helping women rebuild their lives and make a fresh start: In an energetic, luminous atmosphere, the video clip, produced by Iconoclast, evokes the exit from violence as a genuine process specific to each woman, respecting her own rhythm, to enable a new start. It underlines the fact that these women also deserve to be defined by something other than the violence they have endured, and that they can get back on their feet, provided they are offered the possibility of appropriate support. This video spot is also an opportunity for Maisons des femmes Re#Start to reiterate their purpose: reconstruction is possible. Whether in terms of prevention, support or care, the strength of a Re#Start Women's House lies in its holistic approach, providing each woman with physical, psychological, psycho-corporal, social or legal help, by bringing together the professionals who care for and accompany them. Preventing women from being stigmatized as victims: a key priority: Striking a balance between recognizing victims, leaving violence behind and reintegrating them into "life afterwards" remains the central challenge for Les Maisons des Femmes Re#Start. Thanks to a unique model of expertise and know-how with health, legal, social and justice professionals, therapists, artists and sportsmen and women, this objective can be achieved. Supporting the creation of Re#Start Women's Centres to raise awareness among the general public Every year in France, 93,000 women are victims of rape or attempted rape, and 213,000 women are victims of domestic violence*. In the face of these devastating statistics, it is essential that such structures exist. The Re#Start collective now has fourteen members. Eleven Re#Start Women's Houses have opened in France, one in Brussels, and two are planned in Rennes and Mexico City. The launch of this film is an opportunity to speak out in support of the creation of Re#Start Women's Houses: the first was born in 2016 in Saint-Denis, and the collective's goal is to have fifty members within five years.
