The film offers a brilliant panorama of life; striking parallels and contrasts between our existence one hundred years ago and today. The aim of this work was to push boundaries, champion the student and university, and reflect Joyce’s essence in the present-day context in a creative, experimental, compelling and unexpected way.

Ignas Laugalis is a commercial and music video director, born in Lithuania and raised in Ireland since the age of 6. From a young age Ignas always had a creative outlet, be it Lego when he was 3, drawing during his teens, or discovering editing, which made a BA in film an easy choice for university. Professionally, Ignas has spent the last few years working with both Irish and international brands creating compelling and original content both online and for TV. His passion projects have been featured worldwide on international publishing sites such as BOOOOOOOM TV, Shiny Network, Directors Notes among others. He was a Runner up and Special Mention at Emerging Directors Awards Ireland 2019-2020, Winner Best “Creative Cork” for his short film at Indie Cork Film Festival 2019. Ignas demonstrates a uniquely stylized and evocative form of visual storytelling, believing the most mundane subject matter can be made into something special.
