Daniel Wirtberg is a Swedish director whose background lies in the alternative film and video scene and his passion has always been to explore the relationship between dynamic audiovisual storytelling, state of mind and atmospheres. After graduating from FAMU (the Czech Film Academy in Prague) in 2003, Daniel has been freelancing within the film industry and has experimented thoroughly with imagery, expression, shooting formats and techniques. His films have been released on both traditional and modern platforms and have been invited to a vast number of film festivals and garnered numerous awards in a wide array of fields ranging from best film and audience awards to craft categories, including several nominations and awards at D&AD, Berlin Commercial, UKMVA, Nordic MVA and the Swedish Grammys (Grammis) and two Grammis awards for Best Music Video. As a VJ he has performed in venues such as The Icelandic Opera in Reykjavik for Sonár festival, Way Out West, Red Bull Music Academy, CPH:DOX and Trädgården in Stockholm. Daniel is currently in development with two feature film projects and was recently awarded Anders Sandrew's Foundation debut feature script grant.
