CLIQUA are a Mexican-American directing duo. Their hyperactive, eye-popping music videos have already won them a host of talented admirers, including Rosalía, Bad Bunny and J. Balvin. Cliqua formed as a duo in 2018 after Pasqual and Raúl became a leading influence in the explosion of Hispanic and Latin culture in popular music, having played a pivotal role in shaping its imagery. In a single year, their videos amassed a combined total of 700 million views on YouTube. In 2021, CLIQUA were designated to mastermind and reinvent the next phase of The Weeknd’s career, directing a series of megahit music videos including ‘Sacrifice’, ‘Take My Breath’ and ‘Save Your Tears’. Most recently they’ve helmed ‘K-Pop’ (feat Bad Bunny & The Weeknd) - the first video from Travis Scott’s 2023 album Utopia. The duo have also been making a splash in advertising, including ‘Self Care’ for Facebook, starring Becky G, and commercials for Nike, PUMA, adidas, Hyundai, Michelob Ultra and most recently eBay. Their Rick Ross starring commercial for Wingstop, ‘Thigh Boss’, won the Creative Commerce Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions in 2022. Their latest short film ‘Shut Up & Fish’ is set to premiere in August 2023, and they are currently working on their debut feature, ‘Street Legal’, a film about street racing culture in California. CLIQUA are currently based in Los Angeles.
