A dark comedy about death anxiety that follows Mara as she grapples with the belief that she has killed everybody she's gotten close to.
Charlotte is a queer screenwriter, director and actor. Her writing is female led, dark and always laced with acerbic wit. Charlotte is currently adapting the novel THE FAMILY UPSTAIRS into a six part series for PARAMOUNT PLUS UK with Pure Fiction. Charlotte’s original comedy drama series THE COMMANDMENTS is in development with Olivia Colman’s South of the River Pictures, and she is also developing a cul-de-sac comedy drama series called THE CLOSE with Buddy Club Productions which Keeley Hawes is attached to star in. Federation UK have commissioned Charlotte to write her original comedy drama feature THE FAULTS THEY HAD, and has just been commissioned by JAX Media to pen her queer Christmas rom-com feature THE 12 DATES OF CHRISTMAS. Also in the US, Charlotte has an original comedy drama series entitled DEATH DO US PART with Mark Gordon Pictures, and she is currently re-writing a series created by showrunner Sheila Lawrence for Amazon US. Charlotte’s further TV writing credits include writing an episode of HANNA for NBC Universal/Working Title for Amazon, and participating in writers rooms for black comedy series PERSONAL ASSISTANCE (South of the River), Nick Love’s action drama series FOREIGN LEGION (Working Title) and comedy series SIRENS (BBC Studios). As a director Charlotte’s debut short film EVERYBODY DIES SOMETIMES…won Best British Short at the British Short Film Awards, it was also nominated for Best UK Short at Raindance 2022. It recently received FESTIVAL DIRECTORS PICK OF THE FESTIVAL at London’s KINO LONDON FILM FESTIVAL and revived the most nominations in the history of the festival. ‘Everybody Dies Sometimes’ just had it’s International Premiere at TRIBECA 2023 and Charlotte won the Silver Award for Best Young Director at the Young Directors Award in Cannes last month.
