Aliyah Otchere is a multidisciplinary photographer and director. As a British creative raised in Turkey, Aliyah discovered a new perspective in documenting the music scene when she returned to London. She draws inspiration from the display of human interactions and finds strength in people's emotions. Her documentary approach to her photography contrasts to her abstract directorial work that explores visual metaphors. Her work leans into a fantastical play with materials and engages with the music artistically creating visual sculptures. Working with the likes of Raye, Slowthai, Jorja Smith, Ibeyi, Pa Salieu, Denzel Curry, she has also photographed for The Guardian, and has also worked on campaigns with Vans, Penguin Random House, Universal Music, Festival Republic, BBC, AMVBBDO and many more. Now, at 22 years old, Aliyah currently works as a Commissioner and In-House Photographer at XL Recordings and as an independent creative has been commissioned to work on projects for Ravyn Lenae, Tora-i, Rachel Chinouriri, Olivia Dean, Ethan P. Flynn and others.
