Solo" focuses on a boy left wandering on his own in the garden of an empty house. Simply shot in 16mm, it’s an attempt to capture the wonder of childhood boredom, something that you rarely witness in a world of immediately available screens. “Solo” was shot over three summer days in Mallorca with Jules, a 6 year old French boy. When Joep Beving saw the first edit, he loved it so much that he immediately agreed to let us use the piano version of his track “Sol & Luna”.
