With over 30 years in film and production under her belt, and 20 years running her own production company Groundglass, Janette is one of very few female owned and led companies in South Africa. Groundglass has become known worldwide for nurturing and developing young talent, placing a strong emphasis on female filmamkers and for a remarkable commitment to sustainable and ethical practices in filmmaking.

Janette does not only produce, but has moved the company into longform recently and is currently directing two documentary features
