Borja Zausen
Documentary Filmmaker and Photographer
His work focuses on socio-cultural identity, knowledge sharing, and humanity’s impact on the planet.
In 2005, he directed his first feature, The Salty Kiss, premiered on IB3 and selected in New York as a global educational tool. Between 2007 and 2008, he produced three shorts and the documentary “Witnesses” (Canal Sur). His short Som Taujà (2011) won Best Short Film at the Ibiza International Film Festival and on the Filmin platform.
A sustainability pioneer, he launched “Zero Emission Cinema” in 2007 to offset his productions’ carbon emissions.
From 2012 to 2015, he filmed “Palou” , “Miquel”, and “Som Pastor”, celebrated portraits of neighbour-sepherds, as his “contemporary heroes”, wining 33 international awards.
Named “Artivist of the Year” in 2016 for his trajectory of activist art projects committed to society and the environment, he founded Nave María, a space for dialogue between art, society, and the environment.
He is currently working on two feature-length documentaries, which, in addition to writing, directing, filming and editing, he is also producing for the first time.
