Cut + Run
Editor Beau Dickson thrives at the intersection of unexpected elements, exploring underserved stories and juxtaposing visuals to craft fresh perspectives. His work seamlessly blends narrative-enhancing graphics with editorial storytelling, as showcased in campaigns for Adidas, Google, The New York Times, AT&T, and Hennessy, created with agencies Droga5, Johannes Leonardo, BBH, and Translation. Beau’s journey began in his native Canada, where he attended film school in Toronto. A pivotal moment came when he collaborated with video installation artist Marco Brambilla on complex, large-scale projects. As one of the first employees at boutique visual effects company Artjail, Beau honed his craft but eventually followed his passion for editing to Cut+Run, where he found his creative voice. Most recently, Beau’s visually striking style was celebrated in Adidas Originals’ “Gazelle,” earning editing Gold at Ciclope, AICP, and the Shots Awards, as well a Bronze Pencil for Editing at The One Show. Additional highlights include his work on Google’s “Black Owned Friday”, winning an AICP/Next Award and four Clio Awards as well as The New York Times’ “Independent Journalists Campaign,” which won a Silver Pencil at The One Show and a Bronze Clio.
