Originally from Baltimore, Mitch Ryan is a New York-based director who got his break when his personal films, posted on Instagram and Vimeo, caught the attention of Rosalía, who approached him to direct a series of music videos off of her Motomami album. Mitch directed campaigns for Nike, Glossier, Colina Strada, and Stussy among others. Mitch’s work strips away edifice and pretension to portray subjects in a raw yet stylized manner, showing them for who they truly are: complex, full of emotion, and oftentimes humorous. Mitch’s videos for Rosalía’s singles Despechá and Hentai have nearly 1 billion views, and the former was nominated for a Latin Grammy.
