Leon Eberwein (26) discovered his passion for film at the age of 14 on the set of his father's advertising film productions. To realize his dream of making commercials himself, he moved to England in 2017 to improve his skills in commercial film production and English. Upon his return in 2018, he joined his father's company, where he has been an integral part for five years. In 2022, he fulfilled his wish to study commercial film directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Leon's style is characterized by minimalism and a visual language that encourages reflection on profound topics - a trademark of his commercials.

The idea originated at an unremarkable bus stop in front of my apartment in Ludwigsburg on a warm summer day. As so often, I was patiently waiting for the delayed bus, letting my gaze wander aimlessly. But then my eyes slowly shifted to the ground, and suddenly, I noticed the beautifully tiled surface – covered with hundreds of chewing gums, scattered across just a few square meters. Fascinated yet shocked, I immediately researched how long such chewing gum stays there. The answer hit me: The main ingredient of chewing gum is gum base, meaning plastic – a material that outlasts the Earth itself. This moment sparked the desire to bring this issue into people's minds, regardless of their opinions or personalities.
