RIVER is a Paris based multidisciplinary studio founded by the duo of directors Pierrick Selva and Keyvan Nourian.
Whether it’s a commercial or a short film, the River team of talented designers, illustrators and animators embrace every aspect of the creative and productive process dedicating the utmost attention to detail. Their work navigates a variety of techniques and styles of 3D&2D animation & live action. True image fiends, they love to manufacture custom films focusing on products, brands, or ideas while constantly experimenting and researching innovative techniques and visual solutions.
This year River was proud to partner with Motion Plus Design festival in Paris. On this occasion, we created a short video to present our works. But rather than offering yet another showreel based on client references, we preferred to produce a unique film built around storytelling and personal artistic experiments. We wrote a short video format, cut out like a showreel in terms of rhythm and form, but composed of shots exclusively developed for the occasion. Each shot follows a different artistic direction to illustrate the versatile visual approach of the agency. The idea was to create a more authentic format than the mere showreel, with a pinch of humor that characterizes us, but also to make fun of ourselves as well as of the assumptions and the clichés in our professional field.
