Middle child. Took up photography to get out of family pictures. Process person. Story person. Still takes the pictures.

Players of Magic have an intensely emotional and nostalgic connection to the game. Everyone remembers the spark that drew them in - and the memories and friendships created along the way. So we felt a lot of responsibility to get things right in how we honor the game and the fan experience. Fans of Magic also have a strong sense of narrative storytelling and we wanted to approach this as more of a movie than a typical branded piece whenever possible. It was a rare opportunity to get to focus in on just one character’s journey evolving alongside the game across thirty years - a timeline that basically matches my own coming of age. That just made it all feel like a more personal creative exercise. The larger canvas and the purity of our themes meant we could build nuanced and delicate layers throughout. As the time the story comes full circle, I’m hoping it feels like we’ve truly combed the scrapbook of our characters’ lives.
