Filming this film was chaotic in the best way possible, we shot on a Saturday afternoon on 5th avenue and 59th street, a block from Trump tower a week before the elections. We come outside for our exterior shot and the avenue was covered with barriers and police as they were awaiting for a protest. A delight! -We rigged a yellow cab and Every time we needed to go back to position one we had to drive around the block because we were not allowed to back up on 5th avenue. Going around the block would take us 20 minutes with Saturday traffic. So we would have to wait for the car to come back to shoot again. Considering a protest was on its way. The stress was felt. Another fun story was inside the car was very tight with camera and lights so only Natasha, my DP and myself were in the car while filming her scenes. One take, our 1st AD screamed out of his lungs at Natasha and myself for driving the taxi without permission in a scene which sparked a deep convo inside the car about men screaming in general and how it was a no no.
