Director's Works

AXA, The future begins with our dreams Janssen Powers
Raised in a small town in the Pacific Northwest, Janssen's filmmaking journey began with a desire to travel. Moved by the places he visited and the people he met, his early documentary work quickly shaped the filmmaker behind the lens. Today, Janssen's documentary roots continue to inform his narrative and commercial work, frequently exploring themes of human connection and a relationship with nature. His work has been acknowledged globally, with films recognized at the 1.4 Awards, Cannes Young Director Awards, the Webby Awards, One Screen Film Festival, and five Vimeo Staff Picks. Today, Janssen resides in Portland, OR.
From the very beginning, we knew this project had the potential to be something special. When I first read the brief, I immediately connected with Anna, the film’s protagonist. I grew up in a small town in the Pacific Northwest, and from an early age, I also dreamed of leaving home on adventures. Alongside the creatives at Publicis, our team set out to make a film that presents adventure as a choice – whether around the world or around the corner. This story is about a young girl, but I believe its message applies to all of us. It’s a simple reminder to slow down, dream big, and consciously see the beauty around us.
