Director's Works

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. As a child, my dream was to become an NBA basketball player or a filmmaker. I am still patiently awaiting my call from the NBA. Having worked for many years in post production, I always approach projects thinking about how to be economical, while still getting enough to play with the edit. I feel you have to plan for the inevitable moment where things don't go according to plan.
We went for a less is more approach with this project. Avoiding standard coverage, aggressive camera moves or attention grabbing VFX. That way the focus became more on the idiosyncrasies of the scenes: the breathing, the sounds of the mat, and the subtle looks between characters. We knew we wanted to shoot on film, both for the aesthetics it provided but also because it forced us to stay true to our approach and keep things simple.
