Meat Puppet Eros V
Eros is a British-Greek writer director from London, known for high octane, all-killer, no-filler genre films. His short films have been broadcast on Disney +, Channel 4 and have played at many international festivals including SXSW, London Film Festival, Lisbon, Sitges, Fantastic Festival, Fantasia and Encounters. His most recent, ‘Meat Puppet,’ won both the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at SXSW 2024 and screened at an abundance of Festivals, including BIFA where it was nominated for Best British Short. Eros also has a rich commercial and promo portfolio, including work with Kappa, Skepta, Camden Beer, Marmite, KFC, Phillips and more. His recent horror-comedy spots for Quickbooks won Gold at the YA British Arrows and he was nominated for Best New Director at the 2023 Shots awards.
On coming up with the idea, Eros V, Writer / Director of Meat Puppet: “I love those old larger-than-life morality tale movies - Liar Liar, Big, Bruce Almighty - those were like the three DVDs I owned as a kid, and I just thought this script would be a hilariously absurd modern take on that. The idea is so ambitious for short form, but we were like, f**k it, we can pull it off! Films like this should be coming out of the UK, although even I couldn’t believe the level of talent we ended up with. This idea would’ve stayed on the page without an incredible, brave bunch of people who took a risk and made it happen, and I’m insanely proud of what we made.
