Director's Works

Sad Night Dynamite, Wake Up Pass Out Balázs Simon, Cátia Abreu
Pandemonium is a London-based directors duo of Balázs Simon and Cátia Abreu. After gaining recognition and success in the music video industry, they joined forces to further push storytelling and film craft to new horizons. Marrying traditional film craft with possibilities only the latest film technology can offer, Pandemonium aims to create work that deals with deeply human, universal topics.
Pandemonium crafts a grotesquely comic music video for "Wake Up Pass Out", drawing inspiration from themes of overconsumption and a lack of self-control. Building on the sardonic honesty in band members Josh and Archie's music, the scenes unfold from the point of view of a guy fixated on his mobile screen. Instead of staying in the present and watching the band perform on stage, he's lured into the arse end of the nightclub to watch their distorted, monstrous versions, which have only one goal: to grab his attention and consume him. A project involving a myriad of techniques - from live action, prosthetics and motion capture, to late-night ventures scanning Tower Bridge and the city’s streets. Top it off with a CGI monster and loads of Unreal Engine… What could possibly go wrong?
