Object & Animal director Andrew Thomas Huang collaborates with artist DJ Yaeji on Pondeggi, part of Microsoft's Artifacts: New Experiments in Art & AI project. Filmed in Korea, the film explores cultural memory and transformation through AI-driven innovation, bridging past and future. Inspired by traditional Korean hand games and beondegi (street food made from silkworm pupae), the video follows Yaeji transforming into a silkworm, embarking on a dreamlike journey to preserve the cycle of metamorphosis, and facing off against a cyber-bitch techno-witch. Huang describes his approach as “button smashing,” pushing AI tools to create something raw, experimental, and uniquely theirs.
