Inspired by the Young Father’s track Toy, from their latest album Cocoa Sugar, director Salomon Ligthelm approached the trio with his video concept – the idea of seeing dictators behaving like spoilt little children – pissed with the world, because things aren’t going their way.
“The tone of the track is so visceral and abrasive, which I think marries the political subject matter perfectly,” says Salomon. “Looking at the political climate of our time, I’d say truth is certainly stranger than fiction.”
This latest film, shot in Kiev, follows on from Salomon’s earlier video Mr Martyr for the band.
