Bombay Sapphire have just released a selection of shorts for their Imagination Series film competition. Entrants were asked to provide a treatment, turning writer/director Geoffrey Fletcher’s (Precious, Violet & Daisy) ambiguous two-page script into a fleshed-out concept for a short film.
Finalists James W. Griffiths (Indy8) and Cadi Catlow helmed their own segments, with directing duties for entries from Paul Frankl, Shekhar Bassi and Alexis Barosso Gasco going to Henry Mason (Independent), Matt Smukler (Independent/Community) and Daniel Benmayor (Anonymous Content/RCR) respectively.
Incidentally, Indy8 is a new company Independent has set up to produce online films, direct-to-client work and basically everything that sits outside the TV commercial mandate. It’s run by Rupert Reynolds-MacLean and producer Charlie Stanfield.
