The Oscars may well be a celebration of all things cinematic, but the winner of the animated short category, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr Morris Lessmore, is an ode to the joys of reading. The hero of this wonderful short finds himself whisked from his drab world to a library full of bustling books. Created by William Joyce and Brandon Oldenburg of Moonbot Studios, it’s definitely one for the bibliophiles. But with it’s smart combination of live action, scaled -down model-making and gorgeous animation it might be one for the cinephiles too…
